Reverend Patrick Henry Young is the third of four children born to Sampson Payne and Helen B. Young of Fresno, California. Reverend Young enrolled at Bishop College in 1982 in Dallas, Texas, where he majored in Religion and Philosophy. While attending Bishop College, Reverend Young received and answered the call to the Gospel Ministry. He was licensed in 1984 by the Friendship-West Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III. While studying at Bishop he received the honor of being an Outstanding Man in America in 1985 and was also an Academic Honors Recipient in 1986.

After graduating in May 1987 from Bishop College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Reverend Young enrolled in the Howard University School of Divinity. While at Howard, he served in several staff positions as Young Adult Minister at Berean Baptist Church; Graduate Assistant to the Dean of the Chapel under the leadership of Dr. Evans E. Crawford; Minister of the Youth at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, pastored by the Rev. Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr.; and Minister of Youth at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York Pastored by the Rev. Dr. Harry S. Wright.

Since such time, Reverend Young has served as Pastor of the New Ahoskie Baptist Church in Ahoskie, North Carolina; and Vice-chairman of the Board of Education-Hertford County Schools, Winton, North Carolina.

On October 9, 2006, Reverend Patrick H. Young was called to become the 8th Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Corona, in East Elmhurst, New York. Moreover, Reverend Young has acquired several awards and accomplishments. They are the Clergy Award from the East Elmhurst NAACP; Ministerial Award from Queens Branch of National Council of Negro Women; Leadership Award from former Governor Beverly Perdue of North Carolina; Established Hertford County Free Clinic (now Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center) and past President of Corona East Elmhurst Clergy Association. Currently he serves as the Northeast Regional Coordinator for the Home Mission Board, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.; Trustee and Social Justice Chair for the Eastern Baptist Association, New York, Inc.; and the General Secretary for MPAC.
